A Valentine for My Grandson

A Valentine for My Grandson

In this blog, I will be showing you how to use your Cricut machine to make some creative Valentine's Day cards that you can share with your grandsons, among other grandchildren. This project can be quickly completed with just a Cricut machine, a fine point blade and a pen. It does not require much effort or time at all, making it ideal for anyone looking for an efficiently entertaining activity! But before we can even begin working on the project, I thought it would might be helpful to take a look at what our designs looks like in a website known as Design Space. I had used Design Space to create this project. All of the texts, images, and fonts were included with the program to provide a cohesive look. With the Cricut Access subscription, you can now access a wide range of images, texts and even fonts for free, eliminating the need to buy them at all, either separately or together. Owning previously bought or handmade images, texts and fonts also allows you to make this project without spending an extra penny. Now with this digital platform on hand, you can customize your content according to your exact needs. Alternatively, if you do not want to customize anything whatsoever, you can simply click on the "Make It" button and it will take you directly to the output. No need to worry about the project either, as it is already well-prepared and ready to be implemented. Everything has already been figured out for you. That's the whole process! All you have to do now is click on the link and then click 'make it' and you will be ready to go!

We are now going to adhere the card stock onto a light-grip cutting mat to create an even surface. Make sure to align it properly for best results. After that, I plan to employ a scraper tool in order to embed it onto the mat. For this project, I will be using a fine-point blade that is included with all machines available. This blade is the standard four point one and it will help me achieve my most desired results. Additionally, I will be using this 0.3mm black pen from Cricut brand as part of my project. The pen included with the machine can be very handy, but if it already does not have one, there are also a variety of packs available for purchase. So I am in the process of inserting the item into A slot, a designated area on the machine. To ensure that the device has been properly installed, listen out for a clicking sound. That will be an indicator that it is correctly placed in place. All of a sudden, I will have heard a familiar clicking sound and I would know that the pen has been correctly placed into the machine. People may not realize this otherwise manual procedure, but this project can also be carried out with either a pair of scissors, a pen with a fine point blade, or just a precision knife. Following your preferred cutting method, the project can be loaded into any appropriate machine for further processing. Then, we will need to start the actual cutting and drawing for the rest of our project.

The process of crafting and executing intricate designs on the Cricut machine can consume a lot of time, so it is important to set aside more than enough time to complete your project, especially to complete your craftsmanship and delivery far in advance. Ensure you plan ahead in order for the project to go smoothly. Now that the gift cards have been cut out, we will take them out on to the mats to finish the project. In order to organize and cut out my gift cards, I like to place the mat face down and then flip it backward. Once I do that, I can easily take off all of the cards. I enjoy this technique because it ensures that the cards remain straight and that only the mat does all of the curving. There are simply two components to it and you can easily create circles by using them. To finish off the cutting process, use a cloth or just rub the cardstock with your own fingers to gently brush away any paper that may have been shaved and left behind. The colors of the cardstock or other soft material, should not change the fact that cutting them out usually requires extra patience and care. You do not want to cut into unspecified areas of paper or even yourself in this process either! But now we are going to take the same cardstock and then turn it over, so that both sides can be used. The mat should be facing downwards and its back should be visible for this step. Now that all of the cards are ready, it is time to tuck in a crayon and let your little loved one sign their name on it. That way we have the final step completed and just like that - all of the four cards are now ready to be delivered! The four fruits that are featured in our Valentine's Day cards are the pear, the lemon, the orange, and the melon; still, you can make gift cards, let alone witty puns, about just any fruit, vegetable, or other food in your kitchen. When inserting a crayon into the holder, you can gently bend the tips of the holder so that it stays in place. It is best to only slightly bend it rather than pushing too hard. Of course, an additional option in preparing your grandsons' Valentine's Days cards would be to assign certain crayons based on the fruit pun on each card itself; or more likely, the favorite color of your intended recipient grandsons. But still, it all depends on the part of the donor to consider going this extra mile just to surprise their grandchildren for Valentine's Day.

Regardless of a certain extra step, we have made some rather easy Valentine's Day cards at this point in time; having used a Cricut machine and fruit as the main theme for some puns. But you can cut any Valentine's Day card out of any type of cuttable material anyway, provided it can be shaped & cut out properly by the Cricut machine for the best designs. If you are looking for a fun and creative way to celebrate Valentine's Day with your kids, especially your grandsons, then these "do it yourself" projects are perfect. They are easy to make and will bring you and all of your loved ones lots of enjoyment! My hope now is that you have found today's project enjoyable and helpful in inciting inspiration for my readers' own puns and special gift cards for their grandsons.
